Overview
The Guardian is one of the six playable Classes in Levelite. Known as the protectors of the realm, Guardians defend their allies with unwavering courage and unmatched resilience.
They are the ultimate Tank class, built to absorb damage, mitigate incoming attacks, and outlast their enemies.
Guardians are designed for players who prioritise survivability over raw damage. While their solo progression may be slower, they are indispensable in group encounters, especially during high-stakes Raids.
Powers and Abilities
Choosing the Guardian class grants the user several powerful defensive traits.
First Strike Immunity
The Guardian is fully prepared for battle, granting complete immunity to the very first hit they take from an enemy in any combat encounter.
This ability provides immediate protection at the beginning of a fight.
Damage Mitigation
Guardians passively take 10% less damage from all incoming attacks.
This reduction allows them to withstand sustained enemy pressure more effectively than less defensive classes.
Unyielding Resolve
Guardians are completely immune to paralysis and all negative status debuffs.
This resistance helps them maintain their frontline position even when enemies rely on disabling effects.
Natural Recovery
Guardians passively regenerate 5% HP per turn, helping them sustain themselves throughout prolonged encounters.
The Sturdy Shield
Guardians rely on their naturally sturdy bodies and abilities that force enemies to focus on them instead of their teammates.
This greatly improves the party's survivability during combat and increases the group's chances of victory.
Similar to the Aquamancer, the Guardian's shield-buffing, counterattack, and elemental resistance skills, whether used on themselves or their allies, do not consume the party's Energy or Mana.
This makes Guardians valuable Raid members despite their relatively low damage output.
Note: Special Shields are not considered regular buffs or shields and therefore still consume Energy and Mana when used.
Weaknesses
Low Offensive Output
The Guardian's considerable defensive advantages come at a significant cost to offensive power.
Guardians suffer a permanent −12% Damage Dealt penalty across all their skills, making them heavily reliant on teammates to defeat Bosses efficiently.
Their strength lies in protecting the party rather than dealing damage independently.
Equipment
Equipment Type
Heavy
Normal/Medium
Guardians benefit from equipment that improves survivability and supports their role as the party's frontline defender.
When selecting equipment, prioritise:
Defensive stats that help absorb incoming damage.
Equipment that supports HP and long-term survivability.
Attributes that complement defensive and protective abilities.
Skill Progression
Guardian progress through the Ironhold Skill Core. After selecting the class, players unlock abilities by advancing through the Ironhold skill tree. Guardian builds should focus on improving defensive capabilities and supporting party survival.
When developing a build, consider prioritising:
Defensive abilities and damage mitigation.
Skills that protect or support allies.
Abilities that redirect enemy attention.
Recovery and resistance-related effects.
A well-developed Guardian should be able to withstand enemy attacks while allowing damage dealers to focus on eliminating threats.
Recommended Skill Branches
Players are free to choose any skill branch that best suits their preferred playstyle. However, the following progression is recommended for the Guardian class.
Each class has three skill branch tiers: Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced.
1. WARRIOR'S FORGE — Basic Tier
WARRIOR'S FORGE is the foundational skill branch and a mandatory starting point for all classes belonging to the IRONHOLD Skill Tree.
Its core skill is:
Fury's Twin Blades
This branch establishes the fundamental combat techniques required to progress into more specialized branches.
2. BULWARK — Intermediate Tier
BULWARK is the intermediate skill branch, focusing on defense, damage mitigation, and threat management. Its abilities allow the Guardian to withstand incoming attacks while drawing enemy attention away from vulnerable allies.
Its core skills are:
Bulwark of the Faithful — Increases the Guardian's armor, improving physical damage mitigation and overall survivability.
Citadel Breaker — Taunts enemies, forcing them to prioritize the Guardian as their target and helping protect allies from incoming attacks.
This branch provides a strong defensive foundation before the Guardian advances into one of two specialized paths: solo combat or team-oriented support.
3. Advanced Tier — Specialized Playstyles
At the advanced tier, the Guardian can choose between two distinct skill branches depending on their preferred role: TITANBORN, which focuses on solo survivability and offensive power, or AEGIS SENTINEL, which specializes in team protection and defensive support.
TITANBORN — Solo-Oriented
TITANBORN is the recommended branch for players who prefer solo combat, combining powerful self-healing with Earth-element damage and crowd-control potential.
Its core skills are:
Titan's Resurgence — Restores a substantial amount of HP, allowing the Guardian to recover from heavy damage and sustain themselves during prolonged encounters.
Colossal Fury — Deals Earth-element damage and has a chance to inflict Stun on the target, temporarily preventing the enemy from acting.
TITANBORN is ideal for players who value independence, durability, and the ability to deal significant damage without relying heavily on teammates.
AEGIS SENTINEL — Team-Oriented Support
AEGIS SENTINEL is an excellent choice for players who prefer protecting allies and strengthening their team's defensive capabilities. Its skills emphasize damage prevention, elemental resistance, and damage reflection.
Its core skills are:
Divine Interception — Creates an absolute damage-negating barrier that protects both the Guardian and their allies from incoming damage.
Arcane Bulwark — Increases elemental resistance for the Guardian and their allies, improving the team's ability to withstand elemental attacks.
Eternal Bastion — Grants the ability to reflect 80% of the damage received back to the attacker, punishing enemies for attacking the Guardian.
AEGIS SENTINEL is particularly suited to players who prioritize team survivability and defensive utility. By combining powerful barriers with elemental resistance buffs and damage reflection, this branch allows the Guardian to serve as a reliable frontline protector in challenging group encounters.
Role in Combat
Guardians primarily serve as Tanks and defensive frontline protectors.
Strengths
Exceptional Survivability: Takes 10% less damage from incoming attacks.
First-Hit Protection: Completely ignores the first hit received in a combat encounter.
Status Immunity: Immune to paralysis and negative status debuffs.
Natural Recovery: Regenerates 5% HP per turn.
Party Protection: Can help direct enemy attention away from vulnerable allies.
Resource Efficiency: Certain defensive and supportive skills do not consume party Energy or Mana.
Weaknesses
Low Damage Output: Suffers a permanent −12% Damage Dealt penalty.
Slower Solo Progression: Defensive specialisation may make individual encounters take longer.
Team Dependence: Relies on damage-dealing allies to defeat powerful Bosses efficiently.
Guardians work particularly well alongside Shadows and Visionaries, who benefit from having a defensive frontline, and Aquamancers, who provide additional healing and support.
Trivia
The Guardian is Levelite's dedicated Tank class.
Its combination of damage mitigation, recovery, and status immunity makes it especially valuable in difficult Raids.
Having a Guardian in the party can greatly improve the team's chances of surviving the hardest Raid Bosses.
